Mash your home up!

Here is a simple introduction to the connection between web and home automation. It’s my Master thesis in Computer Science at Cà Foscari, actually =)
It’s about the idea of a flexible house you can mash up by interacting with existing web apps. I put it in some slides I presented at Dorkbot Milan in January.
I’m interested in many rising projects linking hardware&web: take a look.

HackUp. The Event. The Faces

Sunday afternoon we hosted the Hack-Up here at MIKAMAI. There were more than 20 people from 5 different countries and a feeling of brotherhood and common understanding that confirms that what we are doing is really worth our time :-)

The Hack-Up works like this: people propose different ideas and create groups that work on a project for 4 hours. All projects, and experiences are then published on a wiki. The purpose is to move people from talking to doing things and talk about them too!
The next meet-up is at the DorkBot… Thursday night.

Dorkbot Milano è un incontro mensile tra artisti, designers, tecnologi, studenti e chiunque altro attorno a Milano interessato all’uso creativo della tecnologia. Le riunioni sono gratis e aperte a tutti. Dorkbot non è solo a Milano: per la lista delle città vedi qui.

- Massimo Banzi di Tinker;
- Massimiliano Nazzi ed Emanuele Martina col progetto Teatrino Elettrico;
- Lorenzo Viscanti di MIKAMAI col progetto Altomic- un social network per interazioni video.

L’appuntamento di questo mese è presso il Circolo Arci Metissage, in via Borsieri 2 – entrata da Via De Castilla, quartiere Isola, dalle 19 in poi.

Per dare la possibilità a chi fa un uso creativo della tecnologia di discuterne in maniera informale con altre persone interessate allo stesso campo.
Per creare un luogo dove presentare progetti di arte/tecnologia/software/hardware.
Per promuovere la creazione di relazioni e collaborazioni tra persone di provenienza ed interessi diversi, con una passione in comune.
