The Startup Night is back in Milan on July 12.

When? We start at 6.30pm

On Wednesday (July 15th, 2009) there’s going to be the second Giant Global Graph meeting. It follows the “GGG breakfast” (pic below), but this time it’s going to be a “GGG Aperitivo” :)

We are going to talk again about the social graph and how we can scrape it, put it to good use, monetize the social capital, create a trust-based economy.

Please bring your laptop, your code, and your own slice of graph: we share a passion for scraping it! :) You can share code, data, slides about your GGG-related project.

What we talked about last time: virtual currencies, Wikipedia as a social network, how to scrape and smush the graphs, subjective search engines, QQ Coins vs Renminbi, The Singularity (the rapture of nerds ?), abundance vs scarcity, trust networks, recommender systems, post-Google scenarios, subjective vs objective logic, Bruce Sterling, Gregg Egan, post-central banks world, and other stuff…

Hack Up as a sinergy of minds

Some friends focused on the projects, the others contributed in many different ways.

Gioia Feliziani, Alice Avallone, Chiara De Caro were priceless contributors in communicating the event, organizing the whole meeting and sharing ideas!

HackUp. The Event. The Faces

Sunday afternoon we hosted the Hack-Up here at MIKAMAI. There were more than 20 people from 5 different countries and a feeling of brotherhood and common understanding that confirms that what we are doing is really worth our time :-)

The Hack-Up works like this: people propose different ideas and create groups that work on a project for 4 hours. All projects, and experiences are then published on a wiki. The purpose is to move people from talking to doing things and talk about them too!

The next meet-up is at the DorkBot… Thursday night.
